319. If It's Important, You'll Make Time

What if the reason you can't make time for something isn't that you don't have enough time—but that you haven't decided it's important enough?

In this episode of Monday Morning with Megan, Megan shares a conversation she recently overheard with a group of women who wanted to establish a new habit but couldn't figure out where to fit it into their already-full lives. Her advice wasn't necessarily what they wanted to hear: if something is truly important to you, you have to make time for it.

Megan breaks down the two most realistic ways to create that time: put the habit at the beginning of your day or remove something else from the middle of your day to make room for it. She also explores why evenings are often the highest-risk place to put an important habit, and the difference between actually wanting something and simply wanting to want it. The Deciding Hour can become the space where you make time for what matters—and then carry the feeling of having prioritized it with you throughout the rest of your day.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • The two primary ways to make time for an important habit
  • Why putting an important habit first can dramatically increase your chances of doing it
  • Why evenings are often unreliable for habits you genuinely want to establish
  • How decision fatigue and unpredictable schedules can derail evening habits
  • Why making time is ultimately a reflection of what you consider important
  • The difference between wanting something and wanting to want something
  • Why wanting to want something can keep you stuck without creating solutions
  • How the Deciding Hour can create protected space for what matters to you
  • Why doing something first thing can impact how you feel for the rest of your day
  • How to be honest with yourself about what is—and isn't—important enough to change for

In short: You don't need to find more time—you need to decide what matters enough to make time for. Megan challenges you to stop beating yourself up over habits you aren't prioritizing and start acting in alignment with what you truly want.
