320. The Real Reason You Can't Find Time

Sometimes the biggest thing standing between you and the time you want to create isn’t your schedule—it’s you.
When something matters to us but requires us to inconvenience someone else, disappoint someone, ask for help, or say no to something else, it can suddenly become much harder to prioritize. We tell ourselves the thing on our heart is important, but our actions often reveal that we haven’t allowed it to be important enough.
In this episode, I’m sharing one of my biggest blocks to creating time for the things that matter to me—and what changed when I realized I needed to let those things be important enough to find creative solutions, communicate my needs, ask for support, and sometimes inconvenience others.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
-
Why the biggest roadblock to creating time may be yourself
-
What it means to let something be as important as you want it to be
-
Why “I can either do this or take care of everyone else” is often a false choice
-
How being willing to inconvenience others can actually help you create better solutions
-
Why communicating what’s important to you gives others the opportunity to support you
-
How consistency—and not occasional bursts of effort—is what creates real progress
-
Why creating time for yourself and your work isn’t selfish when you widen your perspective
In short: If there’s something on your heart that you keep pushing to the side because it feels selfish, inconvenient, or impossible to fit in, this episode will challenge you to see it differently. Let it be important enough to make time, find solutions, ask for help, and keep becoming the person you want to be.
